The Mental Health Association of New York State (MHANYS) recently asked Inspiring Comfort to deliver a keynote address to kick off their Fall 2020 Virtual Learning Communities. The goal of these family-oriented communities is to support and inform parents and caregivers about youth mental health and wellness. We were honored that MHANYS recognized the skill of comfort and the key role it plays in our emotional wellbeing. Inspiring Comfort Founder and Author Jen Marr delivered the keynote address, titled “The Power of Care, Comfort & Connection for our Emotional Health,” on Tuesday, October 27 (viewable below).

To continue the conversation about comfort, MHANYS is offering a series of book studies around Jen’s book Paws to Comfort in December. Through these powerful group sessions, facilitated by Jen and co-founders Jill Bornstein and Mary Perry, participants will learn to intentionally act to not only help one another but to build emotional resiliency through social connectedness. They will learn how to personalize the skill of comfort, discuss strategies, share stories, assess their strengths and walk away with their unique comfort profile and action plan.
